    Entered into rest on February 13, 2009, in Spokane. Born in Spokane on May 25, 1932, to Walter and Sylvia Poole, Ron attended local schools graduating from Rogers High School in 1950. He went to work for the Great Northern Railroad. Ron left the railroad and joined the U.S. Navy serving during the Korean Conflict. After leaving the Navy, Ron returned to the Great Northern working over 10 years. He then went to work for the U.S. Postal Service and retired in 1990. He married his sweetheart, Helen Ryner, in 1955. Ron was a member of Spokane Masonic Lodge #34, Scottish Rite Bodies, and El Katif Shriners, where he was a proud member of the Trombone section of the Shrine Band. He was also a trombonist with the Eagles Band, Aerie #2. Ronald is survived by his wife, Helen, at their Spokane home; his daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Stewart Stallings of Nashville, TN; his son, Gary Poole of Spokane; his brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Grace Poole of Spokane; grandchildren, Bryan (Kady) Poole of Bothell, WA, and Colin, Tyler, and Allison Poole of Spokane. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 17th, 2009 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. at Riplinger Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 18th, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Flowers, RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME, 4305 N DIVISION, SPOKANE, WA. Private interment will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, POB 2472, Spokane WA 99210, or to the charity of donors choice.
