    Notes:

    Larry W. Poole passed away after a brief illness on September 24, 2011. He graduated from John Rogers High School in 1967 and served in the US Army with the Signal Corp as a Communications Repair Specialist from 1968 to 1971. He served in Viet Nam and Thailand for one year.

    Larry attended SCC for three years and received his electronic technician certification and later went on to get his associate degree. He worked at SFCC for 33 years as the Lead Media Maintenance Technician. Larry was very dedicated to his job, and was well-known and respected by many of his colleagues and will be greatly missed.

    He was a loving husband, devoted parent and grandparent. He is survived by his wife, Sandy of nearly 40 years; son, Jeff (Ruth); daughter, Anna; parents, Walt and Grace; brother, Gene (Hua); sister, Gail (Don); niece, Tracy (Graham); nephews, Conner and Wei Tao, three grandchildren, and many cousins, aunts and uncles.

    Larry loved spending time with family and friends, dancing with his wife, Sandy, and traveling. He loved the outdoors and many years were spent camping , backpacking, boating, hiking, and on his 4-wheeler. He especially loved the ocean, swimming pools and palm trees.

    His genuine personality, easy-going manner, great smile, sense of humor and the kindness that he showed to all will be dearly missed, but will live on forever in the hearts of those of us who got to know him.

    Memorial services will be held at Indian Trail Church, 9010 N. Indian Trail Rd., on Friday, October 14, 2011 at 2:00 pm.

    In lieu of flowers, please donate to Hospice of Spokane. The family wishes to thank the Hospice House of Spokane for the compassionate, excellent care they gave to our loved one.

    POOLE, Sandra Fina (Age 68) October 17, 1951 - March 18, 2020 Sandra Fina Poole, passed away March 18, 2020. She was born to Renato A. Franzoi and Gertrude E. Hendrickx, October 17, 1951 in Spokane, WA. She was the youngest of three children with two brothers, Steven and Philip. She graduated from John R. Rogers High School in 1970 and on to complete a legal secretary course at Spokane Community College. She then married her high school sweetheart, Lawrence Walter Poole in 1972. After a brief move to Portland, OR, she and Larry returned back to Spokane. She worked at SCC and Spokane County Health District for many years providing administrative support to valuable regional programs, while raising a family and spending weekends together at the lake. She loved volunteering at the kids schools when they were younger, always eager to help with PTA and school projects. She later volunteered at the Discovery Shop in Spokane that supports the American Cancer Society. She was a devoted wife to her husband Larry, married nearly 40 years, who predeceased her on September 24, 2011. Sandy and Larry were lovebirds, and when in his arms, her smile filled a room with love. One of her favorite pastimes was an evening out dancing with Larry. She was a devoted parent and Nona to her two kids and three grandkids, giving warm hugs, always supportive and caring. She was very proud of her kids and talked about them constantly to anyone nearby. Sandy loved the simple things in life and embraced spending time with her many cherished friends and neighbors, lunch dates, movies, and walking her dog Lulu. Her backyard was her sanctuary, full of birds and flowers. She loved soaking up the sunshine at the lake and on a beach. She traveled many places, loved a good book, and created memories with her holiday baking and gatherings. She will be missed dearly, yet will live forever in the hearts of those that got to know her and embrace her warmest thoughts and touch. She is survived by her son, Jeff (Ruth); daughter, Anna; three grandchildren; sister-in-law Gail (Don); brother-in-law Gene (Hua); extended family Helen, Gary, Donna (Stewart); niece Tracy (Graham); nephews Connor (Annissa) and Tao Wei; over 20 cousins, and numerous other relatives. A celebration of life will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer that you make a donation to the Discovery Shop or the Hospice of Spokane.

    Walter J. Poole was born on May 12, 1926 to Walter and Sylvia Poole in Spokane, Washington. He passed away on March 3, 2017 also in Spokane.

    Walt grew up in Spokane and graduated from Roger's High School, Class of 1944. He entered into the Navy right out of high school. After the Navy, he worked for the Great Northern Railroad in Northern California, where he met the love of his life, Grace Marie Watkins. They were married on June 14th, 1947 and moved to Spokane to begin their life together. He attended Kinman Business College, started out as a bookkeeper and then became a photo-engraver for Parent Engraving Co. In the 1980s he opened his own printing business, Walt's Graphics.

    He joined Spokane Masonic Lodge, No. 34 in 1954, and served as WM in 2000. He later became a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and a Noble of El Katif Shriners. His love of music led to playing in the Eagles Band, Spokane Falls Community Band and El Katif Shrine Band.

    Walt is survived by his daughter Gail Hansen (Don); son Gene Poole (Hua); daughter-in-law Sandy Poole; five grandchildren: Jeff Poole (Ruth), Anna Poole, Tracy Hansen (Graham), Conner Poole, Wei Tao; and three great-grandchildren: Madelyn, Jacob and Lucas Poole. Also survived by sister-in-law Helen Poole; brother-in-law Orvie Watkins (Phyllis); two nieces, Donna Stallings (Stewart) and Mary Ann Tole (Dave); nine nephews: Gary Poole, Frank Watkins, Martin Watkins (Norene), Phil Watkins (Linda), Bob Watkins (Stacey), Bill Watkins (Leanne), Mike Roblyer (Donna), Mark Roblyer (Jacquelne), Rex Roblyer; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his loving wife Grace Poole; eldest son Larry Poole; brother Ron Poole; sister-in-law Kay Roblyer; and brother-in-law Vern Roblyer.

    Walt was always curious and intrigued by life and the people around him. He was excited to keep up with new technology, continued to play in the Shrine Band, and loved to get outside and ride his bicycle. He maintained an active, independent lifestyle with tenacity and the love of his family and friends.

    Memorial services will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, May 12, 2017, at Sunset Chapel at Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 West Wellesley Avenue, Spokane, WA 99205. In place of flowers, please donate to the Shriners Hospital of Spokane, 911 W. 5th Avenue, Spokane, WA 99204.

    Grace was the first of three children born to Larry and Mary Watkins on a ranch north of Chinook, MT.

    She attended first and second grades there in a one-room schoolhouse.

    When she was ten years old, her family moved to Northern California where she grew up.

    She completed her high school education and graduated as valedictorian.

    While in high school, Grace worked part-time for the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company as an Operator and she met the love of her life, Walter J. Poole.

    They were married and moved to Spokane.

    She was a member of the Lidgerwood Presbyterian Church where she served as a Deaconess and Sunday school teacher.

    After raising her family, Grace worked at the Crescent Department Store for many years where she received frequent awards for her expertise.

    Grace is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 68 years, Walter J. Poole; a daughter, Gail Hansen (Don); a son, Gene Poole (Hua); daughter-in-law, Sandy Poole; five grandchildren, Jeff Poole (Ruth), Anna Poole, Tracy Hansen (Graham), Conner Poole, and Wei Tao; three great-grandchildren, Madelyn Poole, Jacob Poole, and Lucas Poole.

    Also survived by brother, Orvie Watkins (Phyllis); sister-in-law, Helen Poole; two nieces, Mary Ann Tole (Dave), and Donna Stallings (Stewart); nine nephews, Frank Watkins, Martin Watkins (Norene), Phil Watkins (Linda), Bob Watkins (Stacey), Bill Watkins (Leanne), Gary Poole, Mike Roblyer (Donna), Mark Roblyer (Jacquelne), and Rex Roblyer; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

    Grace was preceded in death by eldest son, Larry Poole; sister, Kay Roblyer; brother-in-law, Vern Roblyer; and brother-in-law, Ron Poole.

    Grace always put others first and was very kind to everyone.

    She was forever optimistic and good at everything she did.

    She was known for her wonderful family Christmas Eve parties creating lasting memories held dear to our hearts.

    Grace and Walt truly lived their marriage vows, devoted to each other with a love exquisite to behold.

    A Memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Riplinger’s Chapel of Flowers, 4305 N. Division, Spokane, WA, 99207.
